Geese lead goslings on wild ... chase through busy Winnipeg streets

A pair of protective geese led their babies on a wild journey across busy Winnipeg streets before they found refuge on the Red River.

A pair of protective geese led their babies on a wild journey across busy Winnipeg streets Wednesday before they found refuge on the Red River.

The family of birds was found by a busy intersection near Main Street.

The parents set off looking for a less busy place for their goslings. (Jeff Stapleton/CBC)

A group of people came together to help herd the gaggle to safety.

It was touch and go while the geese risked it all to cross Main.

But they made it, wobbling down side streets until they reached the welcoming waters of the Red River.
