Winnipeg golf courses open for the season

The City of Winnipeg is declaring the end of winter, at least on city-run golf courses.

4 golf courses run by City of Winnipeg will be open by Sunday

The City of Winnipeg is declaring the end of winter, at least on city-run golf courses.

By Sunday four of the city-run courses will be open: John Blumberg Golf Course opened earlier this week on Wednesday, Winnipeg Canoe Club Golf Course opens Friday and Harbour View Golf Course and Kildonan Park Golf Course are set open Sunday.

Windsor Park Golf Course and Crescent Drive Golf Course open on Monday. Tee times vary each day according to overnight temperatures and daily play will not be permitted until conditions are favourable to prevent frost damage, said a city news release.

  • John Blumberg Golf Course, 4540 Portage Ave., eight holes and nine holes, opened Wednesday, April 13.
  • Winnipeg Canoe Club Golf Course, 50 Dunkirk Dr., nine holes, opens Friday, April 15.
  • Harbour View Golf Course and Recreation Complex, 1867 Springfield Rd., nine holes, opens Sunday, April 17.
  • Kildonan Park Golf Course, 2021 Main St., 18 holes, opens Sunday, April 17. 
  • Windsor Park Golf Course, 10 Des Meurons St., 18 holes, opens Monday, April 18.
  • Crescent Drive Golf Course, 781 Crescent Dr., nine holes, opens Tuesday, April 19.
