Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a third suspect in connection with the death of a woman who was last seen more than a year ago.

Taylor Lena Ray Moose, 25, was arrested and detained in custody on Thursday, charged with first-degree murder in the connection with the death of Shelby Hayward, police said in a news release on Monday.

Hayward, who was last seen at CF Polo Park on Oct. 20, 2023, was reported missing about a month later, police said in January.

An investigation this year led police to believe Hayward is deceased. Two of the four suspects in her death were arrested in Winnipeg in September.

Tamara Moneyas, 24 and Vincent Fontaine, 39, have been charged with first-degree murder and were remanded into custody, police said.

Police said the fourth person accused in the homicide died during the investigation.
