Several people were forced from a home that caught fire on Selkirk Avenue Sunday.

Police were called to a rooming house in the 800 block of Selkirk near Arlington Street at about 3:45 a.m. after reports of a fire.

Four people escaped safely and none of them suffered serious injuries, police said.

Selkirk was closed for a time as fire crews battled the blaze, but the road has since reopened.

Fire officials haven't released a damage estimate or details about what caused the fire.
