Man exposed himself to students at Winnipeg school playground, police say

A man is facing charges after police say he exposed himself to a group of students at a school playground in Winnipeg's Daniel McIntyre area earlier this week.

A man is facing charges after police say he exposed himself to a group of students at a playground in Winnipeg's Daniel McIntyre area earlier this week. 

The incident happened at General Wolfe School on Banning Street near Ellice Avenue on Tuesday at about 3:45 p.m., the Winnipeg School Division told CBC News in a statement. 

School staff contacted Winnipeg police and officers were told a man, 33, had entered the grounds, exposed himself to several children and made an inappropriate request, police said in a news release. 

The school division said all students and staff were safe 

Officers from the child abuse unit took over the investigation and identified a suspect who was arrested on Wednesday on the same block where the school is.

The man was charged with invitation to sexual touching and indecent exposure to a person under the age of 16. He has been released with conditions including having no contact with anyone under 18.
