Staff are preparing for the biggest meal of the year at Winnipeg's Siloam Mission.

Some 1,300 people are expected to attend Siloam's Thanksgiving meal.
Staff at the downtown homeless shelter and soup kitchen are getting ready to serve a Thanksgiving feast for 1,300 of the city's less fortunate people.

To avoid long lineups outside on this blustery, rainy Monday, the Princess Avenue mission will open the rear doors of its building to keep people warm and out of the wind.

Entertainment, karaoke, and snacks will be provided while people wait for their sitting.

The Thanksgiving meal will be served between noon and 2 p.m.
