Woman dead, police investigate possible St. Boniface homicide

Winnipeg police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman in St. Boniface early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the 400 block of Tremblay Street at 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, officers found a deceased woman.

Gregorchuk said she awoke at around 1 a.m. to the sound of a woman banging on her front door, demanding to be let into the house. 

Gregorchuk opened the window and asked the woman who she was. When she wouldn't answer, Gregorchuk called police. 

"I watched the cops come in," she said, adding police then walked the woman, who they put in handcuffs, from the home and into the back of a police cruiser.
