'Arthur' first baby born at MUHC superhospital
The first baby born at the new MUHC superhospital, a healthy boy weighing 3.6 kg, has been given the name "Arthur."
Mother in labour arrived at new facility early Sunday morning
The first baby born at the new MUHC has been named "Arthur," hospital staff confirmed.
Arthur Perreault, a healthy baby boy, was born at 6:55 a.m. on Sunday.
He weighed 3.6 kg at birth.
It was the second child for Marie Brilleaud and Sylvain Perreault, who already have a two-year-old girl named Émy.
Arthur's mother arrived at the new superhospital in labour early in the morning, while staff were preparing to move patients from the Royal Victoria to the new facility.
"Even before the first patient got from the RVH to the Glen, as we were doing the kickoff meeting for volunteers and staff for the move, a woman in labour came in at 6:17 a.m.," MUHC spokesperson Richard Fahey said on Monday.
"At 6:55 a.m. (we had) a newborn baby."
