A graduate of École Polytechnique, Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire worked as a structural engineer for nearly 20 years. She served as Polytechnique's public relations manager for almost a decade. She was the executive director of Centraide Greater Montreal until 2012, when she was appointed chair of the board of directors of the Corporation de l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.
