Hydro-Québec is reminding its customers that even if there is a work stoppage at Canada Post electricity bills still have to be paid.

The public utility issued the notice on its website, saying customers should make their payment through their financial institution or online.

Negotiations at Canada Post are again at a standstill, as a strike mandate for 50,000 workers is set to expire at midnight Thursday.

The union has until then to serve the corporation with a 72-hour strike notice.

The company could still lock employees out after today.

Negotiations were at the same point two months ago.
