CBC Montreal Do Crew lends a hand at Logifem
Volunteers needed to sort and organize donations
UPDATE: We have all our volunteers for this event. Stay tuned to Daybreak for news about our next Do Crew.
Logifem has been providing shelter and care to women in difficulty in Montreal since 1988. Their mission is to help and empower women with or without children to face the future with strength, courage, hope and dignity.
It is vital for women to have access to stable, safe accommodation and support.- Sally Richmond, Logifem executive director
The organization provides services such as emergency and long-term shelter, life skills and personal development training, and transitional housing for single mothers and their children.
According to Logifem executive director Sally Richmond, the shelter welcomes women who are experiencing a wide variety of difficulties.
The shelter receives quite a lot of donations that the staff just don't have the time to go though.
The CBC Montreal Do Crew will be sorting through donations, organize storage rooms and replenish the Logifem "boutique" so that women can find what they are looking for more easily.
