Teenager, 16, dies after collision between SUV and 2 scooters northwest of Montreal
Police said 3 boys aged 14 to 16 were riding on 2 scooters

A 16-year-old boy is dead and two other teenagers were injured after a collision Saturday night involving two scooters and a sport utility vehicle in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Que., roughly 50 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
According to local police, the Régie de police du Lac des Deux-Montagnes, the three teens aged between 14 and 16 were riding on two scooters when they crashed into an SUV at the intersection of Highway 334 and 59 Avenue.
The driver of one of the scooters was rushed to hospital in Saint-Eustache, where he later died.
The other two boys were seriously injured, but authorities say they do not fear for their lives.
The driver of the SUV was not injured, but was treated for shock.
Police say they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Provincial police, the Sûreté du Québec, was called in to assist in the investigation.
