Jean-François Lisée has officially launched his bid for leader of the Parti Québécois.
Lisée, the MNA for Rosemont and the former minister responsible for Montreal, is the fifth member of his party to join the race.
He first announced his plan to run for PQ leader on Friday. On Monday he filed his nomination papers surrounded by supporters.
Lisée's bid for PQ leadership coincides with the recent release of his book — Le Journal de Lisée.
PQ leadership candidates have until Jan. 30 to gather 2,000 signatures in their support from 50 ridings. They will also have to fork over $10,000 to the party as a deposit.
