Jean-François Lisée will run for PQ leader
It's now a three-way race to replace Pierre Karl Péladeau
Jean-François Lisée will publicly announce on Monday his decision to enter the leadership race for the Parti Québecois. This will make him the third official candidate along with Véronique Hivon and Alexandre Cloutier.
In January 2015, Lisée abandoned a bid for the leadership race before it even started, saying Pierre Karl Péladeau had too big a lead. The party, he said at the time, wanted to "live its Péladeau moment."
Péladeau stepped down from politics on May 2. Lisée said last week he was thinking "very seriously" about a candidacy.
"Yes, I know my trajectory and that of my colleagues is different. We each have our strengths and weaknesses, and we must find in one leader a combination that will bring us victories," Lisée wrote on his blog.
