Lakeside Academy to close, Thorndale, Orchard and Riverview to merge into existing schools
The Lester B. Pearson School Board has voted to close two schools and merge eight others into four at the end of the school year.

The school board, one of Quebec's largest, oversees English-language schools from Verdun to the West Island and further west off-island.

Lakeside Academy (Lachine)
The school is closing at the end of the year.

- Enrolment in 2010-11: 565
- Enrollment in 2015-16: 426
Thorndale Elementary (Pierrefonds)
The school will merge into Greendale Elementary, which is also in Pierrefonds, at the end of the year.
