A Sûreté du Québec helicopter had to be called in to rescue four hikers stuck on a cliff on Mont Saint-Hilaire overnight.

The two men and two women are all aged between 20 and 23.

They called for help at around 10:40 p.m.

Emergency workers were able to spot them because of the light from their mobile phones.

All four are safe and sound.

Emergency officials say they receive calls regularly from people hiking on Mont Saint-Hilaire who find themselves unable to find their way home once it gets dark.
