Young man hit by drunk driver in critical condition, police say

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was heading eastbound on Sherbrooke Street when he hit the pedestrian, who was crossing at Iberville Street.

A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by an impaired driver early this morning, police say.

According to police spokesperson Daniel Lacoursière, the driver, a 34-year-old man, was heading eastbound on Sherbrooke Street just after 2:30 a.m. when he hit the pedestrian, who was crossing at Iberville Street.

Lacoursière said the driver failed the breathalyzer test and was arrested for impaired driving.
