Pedestrian struck while crossing street in Saint-Laurent

A woman is in hospital in stable condition after she was struck by a car while crossing the street in the Montreal borough of Saint-Laurent.

Montreal police blocked off a portion of Côte-Vertu Blvd., west of Cavendish, Tuesday night after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. (Radio-Canada)

A woman is in hospital in stable condition after she was struck by a car while crossing the street in the Montreal borough of Saint-Laurent.

Police say it happened Tuesday, at around 9:40 p.m., when the woman was crossing Côte-Vertu Boulevard, near Cavendish Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle that hit her was heading westbound on Côte-Vertu.

The victim was unconscious when she was transported to hospital. Initially listed as critical, her condition has since stabilized. 

The driver was not injured.

The westbound side of Côte-Vertu Boulevard remained closed for hours Tuesday night while investigators were on the scene.
