My Brossard is a modern city, full of activities for families of all ages

Outdoors and indoors, there is always something to do here

Photographer and Brossard resident Jeff Li has taken a series of photos showing all the things he and his neighbours love to do in the city on Montreal's South Shore.

From outdoor activities, to time at the library and restaurants, here are some of his favourite places to go.

The Grand Parc Urbain in Sector C is a well-known place for exercise, and its chalet for community events. Shaohua Qiu (third from left in white) organizes tai chi here, and teaches others how to participate.

Young Brossard residents hold hockey practice at the Michel-Normandin Arena on Rome Street. Here, coach Steve Simoes runs drills with six-year-old players.

The Quartier Dix30, the biggest shopping centre on the South Shore, makes me feel like we're living in a modern city. This shopping centre has stores for groceries, clothes and luxury goods, as well as restaurants and clinics — everything you can imagine. The square's fountain is a favourite for families with young kids to rest for a while, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Georgette-Lepage Library is a favourite spot for Brossard residents, regardless of their age. There is space for children to read books and play games, for teenagers to do homework and study, for seniors' activities and various exhibitions and training activities as well. I think the atmosphere is perfect here. In this photo, Brenda Urrea-Calderon and Wesley Li pick out some books to read.  If we don't have any place to go, the library is always a top choice for our family.

Coach Yong Jin holds free soccer training for young people. He's one of the enthusiastic people in our city who not only warm our hearts, but also light up the whole city by helping others in their own way.

This open-air gym is a popular spot for adults to exercise, especially during the pandemic. Thanks to the many parks, residents have easy access to green space near their homes to take in some fresh air and recharge with physical training, and gather after work or weekend mornings, which is always an amazing time to get to know your neighbours.

Deer Garden Signatures is a new chain restaurant that opened during the pandemic. Like many other restaurants in Brossard, Deer Garden Signature is located at Place Portobello on Taschereau Boulevard. Portobello makes it easy to access fresh, high-quality and delicious food. More and more restaurants and bars of various styles are opening in Brossard, which gives us much more convenient options than going to downtown Montreal.
