Montreal's 1st major snowfall of season, in photos

The skies are clearing and Montrealers have come out of their first major snowfall of the season in pretty good shape.

Unicycles, bikes, buses braved the storm as almost 20 cm fell

Montrealers have come out of their first major snowfall of the season in pretty good shape.

By the evening, when most of the snow had already fallen, we figured you would have some photos  to share.

We posted one our favourites to Facebook — the image of two unicyclists braving a hill.

Within two hours, nearly 500 people reacted to the picture, and the unicyclists themselves saw it and replied.

Bike mechanic Gabriel Pepin called himself out as one of the unicyclists in the thread, posting 'It's us!' (Gabriel Pepin/Facebook)

Unicycles were too adventurous for some Montrealers, who opted for commuting by bike instead.

Outdoor exercise classes proceeded as usual.

It wasn't all easy-going though — buses were unable to make it up some hills and commuters all over the city were slowed down by the snow.
