Quebec's government will unveil its new budget on March 28.

Premier Philippe Couillard confirmed the news today in Quebec City.

He said Finance Minister Carlos Leitao will table a third consecutive balanced budget for the Liberal government.

Quebec recently reached a deal with Ottawa on health funding which will see the province receiving $2.5 billion over 10 years, in addition to the three per cent annual increase it was already scheduled to receive.

Health Minister Gaétan Barrette said the deal was "significantly less" than what Quebec needs to maintain health services at their current level.

The details of the transfers will only be finalized when the federal budget is tabled on March 22.
