Quebec City man charged after girl he's accused of sexually assaulting sees him on the bus
Teenager reported sexual assault in May but accused remained at large
A 33-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault and sexual touching in connection with a complaint lodged by a 14-year-old Quebec City girl.
According to police, the girl had just turned 14 when she was sexually assaulted while was riding a city bus in May. She went to the police to report the incident, but they were unable to find the suspect.
On Monday, the girl was getting on a bus at the corner of Auclair Boulevard and de Vinci Street in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood when she noticed that same man was on the bus.
She called 911 and Bruno Tremblay was arrested. He has a history of sexual assault dating back to 2003.
Tremblay had been detained until Tuesday's hearing in a Quebec City courthouse. The Crown opposed his release, and will remain in custody until his bail hearing Friday.
