Quebec public daycare workers set to strike
More than 300 daycares across Quebec will close Friday while workers stage a one-day protest over wages and benefits.
More than 300 publicly funded daycares across Quebec will be closed on Friday while workers stage a one-day protest.
It's the second single-day strike this week involving thousands of daycare workers and families in the province.
Workers have been without a contract for two years.
The sticking points in contract talks have been salaries, vacation time and schedules.
Quebec Family Minister Yolande James says the strike will be a major inconvenience for parents.
Many parents, however, say they support the daycare workers' struggle for better work conditions.
