Suspicious fire destroys business, damages homes north of Montreal

Quebec provincial police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed one building and heavily damaged several others in the Lanaudière region overnight.

No one was injured in the fire, but police say a witness saw someone flee the scene

Quebec provincial police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed one building and heavily damaged several others in the Lanaudière region overnight.

The fire started around midnight behind a store on Prinicipale Street in Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan, Que., about 25 kilometres north of Laval, and then spread to four neighbouring buildings, some residential.

Crews from Terrebonne and Repentigny were called in to help extinguish the fire. 

A witness reported seeing someone leaving the scene shortly after an explosion was heard, police say. So far police have no suspects. No one was hurt.
