Community service sentence put on hold pending appeal
Former Montreal police officer Stéfanie Trudeau's appeal of her assault conviction will be heard next week.
Trudeau, known as "Officer 728" because of her badge number, was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to perform 60 hours of community service in May after being found guilty of assault after using excessive force during an arrest in 2012.
The community service order was put on hold pending the outcome of her appeal.

A date for her appeal is to be set next Friday.
