15 people have come forward to report incidents in the student residence so far
About 500 people gathered at Laval University on Wednesday evening to support the victims of alleged sexual crimes in the Alphonse-Marie-Parent residence.
Quebec City police say 15 complainants have come forward so far about a series of incidents they allege took place overnight Friday.
The event was organized by political science professor Thierry Giasson.
During the vigil, some students booed university rector Denis Brière and interrupted several times when he took the stage to speak.

Senior management of the university has faced criticism for its delay in alerting the community about the incidents.
The complaints involve at least one suspect, described as a man in his 20s, and range from sexual touching to assault.
