Bay Ferries cancels Fundy Rose crossings for 3 days
Ramp problems to blame, company says
Bay Ferries Limited has cancelled all Fundy Rose sailings between Saint John, N.B., and Digby, N.S., until at least Tuesday due to mechanical issues.
The company originally cancelled four Saturday crossings on Saturday.
On Saturday afternoon, the company announced that repairs that include welding would be needed before the vessel could go back into service.
The remaining cancelled departures are from Saint John at 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, as well as from Digby at 11 a.m. and 5:30 on the same days.
In addition to today’s sailings, all Fundy Rose sailings on July 17 & July 18 have been cancelled as we work to repair the issue. <br><br>We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and are working around the clock and through the weekend to fix the issue as soon as possible.

One of the ramp's hydraulic operating cylinders needs repairs and the bow landing door ramp is inoperable, the afternoon announcement later confirmed.
Passengers with bookings on the cancelled crossings will be refunded with an attempt to rebook, said Wilson.
"We realize it's peak season and apologize for any inconvenience to our customers," Wilson said. "But we're working as fast as we can to rectify this and to get back sailing as soon as we can."
