Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series takes centre stage

The Fredericton Playhouse offers an eclectic mix of entertainment on the Spotlight Series stage this month.

The Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series and Kidstage Series invites some of the most exciting artists touring today to the Playhouse stage, offering East Coast favourites, internationally acclaimed ensembles, up-and-coming musicians, innovative dance and circus shows, hilarious comedy performances, inspiring theatre pieces and much more.

Here is the lineup for November:

Spotlight Series

ÉLAGE DIOUF - Friday, Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m.
JUNO Award-winning percussionist and composer Élage Diouf sits at the crossroads of pop, world, blues, folk, and asiko (West African rhythms). His trademark sound is upbeat and festive, perfectly complimenting his hopeful and adventurous lyrics, often sung in his mother tongue, Wolof. Élage's performances are electrifying, blending elements of African folk, reggae, jazz, and blues into a mesmerizing tapestry of sound.

HYPROV - Friday, Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m.
Canada's master improviser Colin Mochrie and hypnotist extraordinaire Asad Mecci return to the Playhouse with their spontaneous and imaginative show, Hyprov! Audience members volunteer to be hypnotized by Mecci, then remain on stage to participate in an improv scene with Mochrie. The show combines hypnosis and improv.
