Investigators said foul play is not suspected in the death of 27-year-old Nicholas Wade Baker and he is considered the only suspect linked to the killing of Prof. John McKendy.

The 60-year-old professor's body was discovered in his Douglas, N.B., home early Friday.

Just before the discovery of Baker's body in a hotel parking lot, the Mounties had issued a Canada-wide warrant for Baker that said he was wanted on a first-degree murder charge in McKendy's death.

Police said Baker had no fixed address, but had family in South Carolina.

Though police have not commented on family ties, published reports say Baker was married to McKendy's daughter. A woman was taken to hospital Friday with non-life-threatening injuries, but no details were released.

An RCMP spokesman would not give details on how either man died. McKendy was a sociology professor at the Fredericton university.
