The University of Moncton received another malicious email Saturday night that was circulated to students and staff, but was quickly erased by the school's IT department.

It isn't clear how many people received the email, which marks the 10th one the university has dealt with in the past week.

The emails have targeted a female student, include images and have been described as hateful and sexual in nature.

University officials believe the emails originate from a server outside of the country.

The university said in a statement Sunday that it's continuing to work with RCMP and external experts to stop the degrading emails.

The ninth email, sent on Thursday, reached 2,000 students and staff.

The university said it wouldn't comment further on the case so as not to harm the ongoing investigation.
