A man was found shot in a Moncton neighbourhood early Tuesday morning, Codiac Regional RCMP say.

RCMP are investigating the shooting of a man in a Moncton neighbourhood early Tuesday morning.

The 46-year-old man's injuries were not life-threatening, said Sgt. André Pepin of the Codiac detachment. He was taken to the Moncton Hospital, where he was to have surgery.

No one has been arrested, Pepin said.

Just before 4 a.m, RCMP received a call from a Cameron Street residence about a shot being fired, RCMP said.

Police discovered the wounded man in the reported area, between St. George Boulevard and Main Street.

"We still have to talk with the victim and right now the victim is at the hospital and cannot talk to us," Pepin said.

The type of firearm used in the shooting is unknown, Pepin said,

No weapon found at the scene, he said.
