A Berwick, N.S., based television series has struck a deal with Netflix which will take their show to a worldwide audience.

Screaming Goat Productions is the company behind Bigfoot Town.

According to its website, the show is about the mayor of a small town named Jack, and his adventures trying to save the town from going bankrupt.

After a mistaken Bigfoot encounter, people start arriving at the town to see the Bigfoot. Along with his best friend Paul and his girlfriend Amber, the mayor tries his best to keep the story going.

The series has filmed a pilot in Berwick and producers will continue to shoot the series there.

Creator Graig Brenton started the search for local cast members last summer and wants the series to strictly feature Nova Scotia talent.

The show's website said their original goal was to secure a deal with a major Canadian television network.

Brenton said Netflix is prepared to air the show in the fall if all episodes are filmed and approved in time.

Studio space has been set up in a building on South Street in Berwick and production will be handled by Annapolis Valley based Wild Lupin Media.

The show's producers will be holding a casting call for people to fill recurring roles and background players. It will be held in Berwick on April 23. They are looking for all ages and talents.

Bigfoot Town follows another Nova Scotia shot television production to Netflix. The Trailer Park Boys have taken their show to Netflix for the past two seasons.
