April Maloney is a photographer from Sipekne'katik First Nation. When she was around eight years old, her father set up a dark room in their home and she quickly learned how to mix the developer, fixer and rinse. Since that time, April has explored videography and became an independent filmmaker. Her latest video project is called “The Game of Hockey - A Mi’kmaw Story” and investigates the possible Mi'kmaq origins of hockey.
