The consumer carbon tax is gone. Here's the price at the pump in Nova Scotia
The price of gasoline in the Halifax area dropped 17.4 cents
Nova Scotians got some relief at the gas pumps Tuesday as the consumer carbon tax ended.
The price of regular gasoline dropped 17.4 cents to 146.5 per litre in the Halifax area. The price of diesel dropped 22.1 cents to 161.2 per litres.
The price at the pump varies slightly depending on where you are in the province.
As well, the province's HST dropped from 15 per cent to 14 per cent on Tuesday.
Mark Carney cancelled the carbon tax on his first day as prime minister last month, signing a directive for the fuel charge to be removed on April 1.

The levy had been added to the sale price of carbon-emitting products by fuel type. For gasoline, it was 17.6 cents a litre.
Former prime minister Justin Trudeau first implemented the carbon pricing scheme in 2019.
But as Canadians experienced high inflation in the years following, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre's pledge to "axe the tax" gained traction among voters.
Carney had previously supported a carbon pricing scheme, but said during his bid for the Liberal leadership that the current policy had become "too divisive" and promised to kill the policy.
