Police say Dartmouth shooting death on Lahey Road is a homicide

Police found the body of a 36-year-old man after responding to a call about a shooting on Lahey Road on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Nathaniel Maurice Brown

Halifax Regional Police say they have ruled the death of a 36-year-old man in Dartmouth is a homicide.

Police were called to Lahey Road on Saturday night about a shooting at 11:20 p.m. 

When police arrived, they found a man outside a residence who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. After initially calling the incident a suspicious death, police said in a news release Tuesday that it is being investigated as a homicide.

Police have identified the victim as Nathaniel Maurice Brown.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy on Monday. Investigators do not believe that the incident was random.
