Inmate sent to hospital after fight at Dartmouth jail

An inmate at the Burnside jail was sent to hospital Friday after an altercation in the Dartmouth, N.S., prison.

An inmate at the Burnside jail was sent to hospital Friday after an altercation in the Dartmouth, N.S., prison.

The 21-year-old man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries during an assault involving two inmates at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Centre, Halifax Regional Police said.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth II Life Sciences Centre in Halifax.

Police are investigating the incident.
