Macdonald Bridge will be closed again this weekend
Bridge still open to pedestrians and cyclists, who will share the designated walkway
The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed again this weekend for work that's part of the two-year, $70-million project to extend the bridge's life.
The closure begins Friday at 7 p.m. and ends Monday at 5:30 a.m.
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists, who will share the designated walkway.
"Users are urged to exercise caution and obey all directions from traffic control. Cyclists must walk their bicycles in the area of the pedestrian tunnel, near the Dartmouth tower," Halifax Harbour Bridges said in a news release.
Halifax Harbour Bridges said traffic delays are expected, so drivers should plan ahead, use alternative routes and allow extra time to reach destinations.
This is the second of potentially four Macdonald Bridge closures this year in relation to what the bridge commission has dubbed Project LifeSpan.
