Police say a 24-year-old man from Seabright, N.S., has serious injuries after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a fishing boat near French Village early Sunday.

Police say a 24-year-old man from Seabright, N.S., has serious injuries after the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a fishing boat near French Village early Sunday.

In a news release, Nova Scotia RCMP say first responders were called to the scene around 1 a.m. on Peggys Cove Road at Setag Lane.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows a pickup truck veered off the road and struck a fishing boat that was on a property.

Fire services extracted the driver from the vehicle. He was the lone occupant.

Police haven't determined what caused the crash.

Peggys Cove Road was closed for several hours but has reopened.
