N.S. man charged with sexual offences after investigation at elementary school
The suspect was arrested and appeared in provincial court this week
A man has been charged with sexual offences involving children following reports of sexual assaults at an elementary school southeast of Bridgewater, N.S.
In a news release Friday, RCMP said they have laid four counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference against a 67-year-old man from Hebbville for incidents involving four children.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in provincial court on Thursday. He has been released on conditions.
RCMP said the charges come after a months-long investigation that began in February when the Mounties received a report of sexual assault at Pentz Elementary School in Pleasantville.
At the time, police said the alleged assaults involved a male employee and a child victim. They also said the suspect had not been at the school since October 2023.
RCMP said during the investigation, additional complainants came forward.
The investigation is ongoing and RCMP said more charges are expected.
Anyone with information concerning the case is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
