Rehtaeh Parson's mother on Dr. Phil

The mother of Rehtaeh Parsons appeared on the U.S. talk show Dr. Phil on Friday.

Leah Parsons shared the story of how her Nova Scotia daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted and then tormented online before she took her own life.

"What is wrong with the moral compass that not one person in that room would step up and say, ‘Time out, this is not OK,'" host Phil McGraw asked her.

"And even after the fact, zero accountability. Their faces are hidden because they’re under the youth act. What about her?" Parsons responded.

The episode of the American talk show discussed the issue of consent.

Two young men face child pornography charges for allegedly circulating a photo of the attack. No sexual assault charges were laid.
