One of the best-known women in Springhill has died.
A funeral service to mark the life of 87-year-old Norma June Ruddick was held at the Springhill Baptist Church Thursday afternoon.
Ruddick, a mother of 13, was best known to the public as the wife of the singing miner Maurice Ruddick, who survived the 1958 Springhill mine disaster.
She passed away Monday, Sept. 17.
