      Nova Scotia paddler Bret Himmelman, who is trying to get to the Olympics, says more federal funding for athletes will ease some financial pressures. Ottawa announced in the budget last week it will increase funding for the Athlete Assistance Program, which helps support nearly 2,000 athletes in more than 90 sports.
