Cpl. Nathan Cirillo's body escorted out of Ottawa

Ottawa police escorted Cpl. Nathan Cirillo's body from the McEvoy Shields Funeral Home on Hunt Club Road to begin his journey home to Hamilton, Ont.

Ottawa police escorted Cpl. Nathan Cirillo's body from the McEvoy Shields Funeral Home on Hunt Club Road to begin his journey home to Hamilton, Ont.

Ottawa police officers began escorting Cirillo's body from the McEvoy Shields Funeral Home on Hunt Club Road starting at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

The escort proceeded west on Hunt Club and onto Highway 416 southbound.

Ottawa firefighters had trucks and equipment on the Fallowfield and Hunt Club Highway 416 overpasses for Cirillo's procession.

Ontario Provincial Police assumed control of the escort at Bankfield Road.

From there, Cirillo will be escorted to Hamilton along the Highway of Heroes.
