Ottawa man dead in head-on crash near Cornwall
Wednesday morning collision on Highway 138 involved passenger vehicle, transport truck
An Ottawa man has died after a head-on collision between a transport truck and another vehicle on Highway 138 north of Cornwall, Ont.
Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP say at 5:58 a.m. Wednesday, a passenger vehicle driving north on Highway 138 collided head-on with a southbound transport truck north of Willy Allan Road.
The man driving the Toyota vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified him as 27-year-old Azizullah Assadzada of Ottawa.
The 63-year-old truck driver from Chelsea, Que., was not injured. Both drivers were the only ones in their vehicles.
Highway 138 was closed between Willy Allan Road and County Road 43 all day Wednesday, and reopened at approximately 9:15 p.m. that evening.
