Warsama Youssouf, 27, taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, later declared dead
Ottawa police have identified the man shot to death early Sunday morning in the city's east end, the fourth shooting death in the nation's capital in the past five days.
Police and emergency responders were called to the intersection of Cyrville and Meadowbrook roads at approximately 12:50 a.m. after getting reports of gunshots.
CBC spoke with several neighbours of the strip mall where the shooting happened. They reported hearing between three and five gun shots just after 12:30 a.m.
Police found 27-year-old Warsama Youssouf from Ottawa in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital but was later declared dead.
The homicide unit is investigating. A section of Meadowbrook Road was closed at 5:30 a.m. but has since reopened.

Police appeal for information
On Friday evening, Ottawa police were called to Alta Vista Drive after two men were shot dead, with a third man taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two days earlier, on Wednesday, police were called to Palmerston Drive following the shooting of a 22-year-old man.
Police said Sunday night they were also investigating a shooting that occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Woodroffe Avenue.
Paramedics told Radio-Canada that one person was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
There have now been seven homicides in Ottawa in 2021.
