The top proposal for the redevelopment of LeBreton Flats, plans for Canada's 150th birthday party and the contentious Victims of Communism Memorial were on the agenda as the National Capital Commission board met April 28.

It was the first meeting that Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and Gatineau Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin were able to ask questions and take part in discussions as non-voting members of the NCC board.

Both municipalities have long called for a voice on the board, as its decisions impact transit and development in both cities.
