"A scene was established indicating that gunfire had been exchanged," police said in a media release issued days after the shooting.
A short while later, a man showed up at an Ottawa hospital to be treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Days after the shooting, police had issued an arrest warrant for Joseph Madore, 25, of Ottawa.
