Ottawa weather forecast expects some sun before rain returns
Wednesday's high to reach 10 C with mix of sun and cloud; then 20-30 mm of rain Thursday
More than 26 millimetres of rain fell in the capital on Tuesday, but thankfully the sun should peek out and say hello today.
Wednesday's forecast calls for periods of rain ending this morning, giving way to a mix of sun and cloud. There should also be a northwest wind blowing at 20 kilometres per hour in the morning.
The high will be 10 C with a UV index of five (moderate).
Wednesday night should be cloudy with an east wind gusting from 20 to 40 km/h as the low hits 3 C.
The rain returns with a vengeance Thursday and, once again, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement calling for between 20 and 30 mm.
The rain could be heavy at times with an east wind gusting between 30 and 50 km/h. The high will be about 5 C.
Rain should continue overnight Thursday into Friday with a high of 3 C to end the work and school week. Environment Canada also expects around 50 mm of rain in some areas by Friday morning.
However, the temperature will start to rise with a sunny weekend ahead. You might not believe it, but Monday and Tuesday have highs in the high teens (along with more rain), so far.
