Freezing rain warning over for Ottawa-Gatineau
Some areas experienced thunderstorms, hail as storm blew through
The freezing rain warning for the Ottawa-Gatineau region has ended after a winter storm brought a messy mix of precipitation and scattered thunderstorms to the area.
The whole family woke as our house shook to a giant rumble of thunder. This is January. <a href="https://twitter.com/CBCOttawa?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@CBCOttawa</a>

It’s hailing so hard in <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Orleans?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Orleans</a> that it made me jump to my feet. I thought the sound was water running in the house. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ottweather?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ottweather</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ottcity?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ottcity</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/cbcotttraffic?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@cbcotttraffic</a>

There could still be some patchy freezing drizzle this afternoon.
Fog advisories for the Stirling-Tweed and Bancroft areas have also ended.
Hope for temperatures to climb above the freezing point where you live, but the cold air does tend to hang around in the Ottawa Valley.
Blustery easterly winds will shift southerly by afternoon, but the temperature will struggle to get above 0 degrees.
