A report to the city's transit commission recommends OC Transpo fully implement the Presto tap-and-go-smart card system.

A report to the city's transit commission recommends OC Transpo fully implement the Presto tap-and-go-smart card system.

The report, to be tabled at next week's commission meeting, said all seven of Presto's "success factors" have been met.

The original summer 2012 launch of the electronic smart card was put on hold until February 2013 as Metrolinx, the provincial agency administering the card, and Accenture, the company behind the card, worked to fix glitches.

Thousands of cards were distributed in January as part of a partial rollout

Metrolinx is scheduled to also report back on the April 17 meeting to discuss its deployment plan for the full program.
